Namibia Town of the Year: Your vote counts!

The competition is open to everyone, irrespective of whether or not you are a resident of your favourite town. Vote by sending an SMS with the trigger word NTY followed by the name of the town you are voting for, to 51500 (N$1 per SMS). Voting is limited to one vote per cell phone number to ensure fairness.
Each regional winner will receive editorial coverage and advertising space to the value of N$50 000, while the national winner will receive an additional N$200 000 in editorial coverage and advertising space.
To help cover the costs related to their participation in the Namibia Tourism Expo, each area winner will receive assistance to the value of N$25 000 for exhibiting at the NTE, as well as a brochure to promote the tourist attractions and establishments in their town.
One lucky SMS entrant stands a chance to win a cash prize of N$26 000 after the announcement of the Namibia Town of the Year 2016 winner.
The competition aims to uplift towns and regions, as well as to promote attractions and activities. It will also boost domestic tourism, especially during the international off-season. It is run by Namibia Media Holdings and its daily publications Republikein, Allgemeine Zeitung and Namibian Sun, as well as its community newspapers Ewi, Windhoek Express and Erongo.
